It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of a dear community member, elder, friend, and supporter of AGOA, Mr. John Pewee, of Martha International Market John was more than a business owner, he was a bridge-builder, a supporter of culture, and a champion for community. Through Martha’s International Market, he and his wife Martha created a space where culture, heritage, and togetherness could thrive. At A Glimpse of Africa, we are profoundly grateful for him and his family contributions and unwavering support over the years. His legacy of service and love for people will continue to inspire us. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Martha, Onesimus, his entire family, loved ones, and the Martha’s International Market community during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. About Programs 2024 Gala Get Involved Donate CONTANT US A Celebration of African Culture A Glimpse of Africa is a nonprofit thatbrings people together by showcasing educating celebrating and sharing diverse African cultures while fostering community through programs that voice advocate for and address African refugees and immigrant needs and disparities. Our goal is to ensure the African immigrant and refugee population is not only healthy but a thriving happy successful wellrounded community. SUCCESS STARTS WITH SUPPORT African Art Cultural Celebrations Education Find joy in food art stories music and dance at our festival and throughout the year Civic Engagement Community Advocacy Advocating for and educating the African community on their rights here in the United States Mental Health Wellness Educating and providing resources for the mental and physical wellbeing of the African community Socialeconomic Empowerment Providing opportunities to allow immigrant businesses to thrive and build economic success Check us out on facebook.
