About The Foundation Brain Tumor Awareness Scholarships Awards News Events Mary E. Smith Mary Elizabeth Smith was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor on September 10 2003 and 4 days later she made her transition. Her untimely death had a devastating affect on our entire family. We learned some valuable lessons along the way and began to truly understand what it means to appreciate the gift of life.
