"I was homeless for 5 years in the East Lake community. I met the folks at MetMin in 2022 when the Impact Hub opened their doors. The staff and volunteers welcomed me and listened to my story. When our camp was flooded, MetMin was there to help me recover with new supplies. MetMin encouraged me to seek help with my addiction and with the help of NuStart, we located a recovery center that was perfect for me. I wished everyone would just take the time to sit and talk with them. MetMin really cares about people with no judgement and I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for MetMin I don’t think I would be where I am today. With the support of the City of Chattanooga’s Office of Homelessness and Supportive Housing I am now housed and working. While it is still a struggle at times, MetMin is still there providing food, clothes, and other basic needs. I want to thank MetMin, NuStart, and the City of Chattanooga for working together to bring me hope for a brighter future. MetMin is a blessing to all of us and I am forever grateful.
