In 2021, Prevention Institute and the Hogg Foundation co-hosted the Young Minds Matter Virtual Conference Series focusing on children’s mental health topics. This Juneteenth, we revisit the wisdom shared by panelists on the Juneteenth Legacy Project: Art in Action session and explore how the Project has evolved since then.   Headquartered in Galveston, TX, the Juneteenth Legacy Project showcases the history of Black Americans in Texas and the United States, and expands the narrative around the history of Juneteenth and Galveston’s role. Walking through the gallery illustrates the power that art has to speak to us.
