💙 You can’t always just see with your eyes. Sometimes, you speak with them. Daniel Creech uses his eyes to drive his wheelchair and communicate through a tablet. When vision changes made that harder, Dr. Janene Sims at UAB - The University of Alabama at Birmingham Eye Care made sure his new glasses worked with his unique needs, restoring not only his sight but his confidence, independence and ability to speak with others. Advancing Vision Research Protecting Sight Shaping the Future Our Mission The National Alliance for Eye and Vision Research NAEVR champions a future where every American has access to exceptional eye and vision care by advocating for robust funding and support for vision research. Through tireless efforts NAEVR secures federal investments from the National Institutes of Health NIH including the National Eye Institute NEI as well as the Department of Defense DOD Department of Veterans Affairs VA and other federal agencies. This mission underscores NAEVRs commitment to ensuring groundbreaking discoveries that enhance vision health nationwide. Complementing this mission the Alliance for Eye and Vision Research AEVR amplifies the importance of vision science through strategic education and outreach.
