Let’s introduce you to the org’s founders: Aria McLauchlan & Harley Cross, who started the non-profit nearly 8 years ago to address the clear need of supporting farmers in building resilience and profitability through improved soil health. To get to know Aria and Harley a bit more, we asked them "what drew you to this work?" Aria: "Over the last 10 years, we’ve seen enormous progress on soil health, from niche movement to kitchen table issue - one that crosses industries, transcends politics, attracts incredibly motivated people, and achieves shared goals. We’re driven to continue that momentum by delivering the tools, data, and policies that help farmers turn soil health into lasting profitability and resilience.” Harley: "It sometimes feels like there are very few places of real common ground left in America… but when we dig deep, and get to the core, we find there is at least one thing we’re we are all connected to, and should all be able to genuinely get behind... our soil. The common good in working to ensure we have healthy soil to grow clean, nutrient rich food in America is more certain now than ever before. It is not a talking point, it is the foundation of healthy communities, healthy lands, and the key to our collective safety and wellbeing."
