Our club recently had the privilege of hearing from Rotarian Deborah Wall, who shared powerful insights into Rotary’s role in the fight to end polio once and for all. Thanks to decades of effort, polio is almost eradicated, but there is still work to be done. As Debbie reminded us, the virus must be completely eliminated or it can return. Rotary continues to fund vital surveillance in at-risk regions such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, and parts of Africa, ensuring that any signs of the virus are detected and stopped before they spread. Each vaccine is just $3. Three dollars that protects a child, strengthens communities, and brings us closer to a world where polio exists only in history books. Rotary has already helped reduce polio cases by 99.9%. With continued vigilance and global support, we will finish the job. Together, we keep going.
