🇺🇸🔥 Honoring Our Heroes – Kincade Fire First Responder Monument Dedication This past Tuesday evening, the Rotary Club of Windsor had the profound honor of dedicating a monument in tribute to the brave men and women who stood between the Kincade Fire and the town of Windsor back in October 2019. Thanks to the hard-won experience from prior fires like Tubbs, our local fire agencies, especially Sonoma County Fire, strategically battled the flames and held the line, saving thousands of homes and preserving our community. Their courage and resilience will forever be part of Windsor’s story. The ceremony featured heartfelt remarks from Windsor Rotary President Larry McCabe, who helped bring this vision to life, alongside Past President and former Fire Chief Doug Williams, and Rotarian Wally Kurtz. We were also honored to hear from Windsor Mayor Rosa Reynoza, Sergeant Jason Little, and keynote speaker Sonoma County Fire Chief Ron Busch. 🎖️ The evening concluded with the unveiling of the beautiful memorial stone and plaque, placed by the Rotary Club of Windsor on land generously donated by the Foothills of Windsor HOA. It was a moving, meaningful tribute, one that reminds us of the strength, service, and selflessness of our first responders. Thank you to all who helped make this ceremony unforgettable. 🌍💛 Rotary in Action, Weekly Meeting Recap This Tuesday’s Windsor Rotary meeting was a powerful reminder of what community, compassion, and collaboration can achieve. We heard inspiring updates from fellow Rotarians on the many domestic and international projects we’re supporting, nearly a dozen in total! These efforts include: 🧑‍🏫 Desk Buddies – providing portable desks to students in underserved regions so every child has a space to learn and dream. 💧 Amazon Rainwater Initiative – supporting clean water collection systems for remote villages along the Amazon River, giving families access to safe, drinkable water. 🌐 Plus many more projects that impact lives across the globe and right here at home.
