MIWSAC staff live from the 2025 #WomenAreSacred Conference in Milwaukee! MIWSAC was honored to present during three sessions at WAS: an Elevate|Uplift session, a Project Beacon panel, and a session on the work of the Not Invisible Act Commission (NIAC) Our CEO Nicole Matthews presented alongside our Elevate|Uplift partners Tamika Payne and Karla Vierthaler in a session on the unique needs of Tribal communities and the need for culturally sensitive services in Tribal communities. The Project Beacon panel discussion featured a Q&A with grantees, moderated by National Projects Director, Becki Jordan, sharing lessons learned about Project Beacon, which aims to increase the quantity and quality of services available to urban American Indian and Alaska Native victims of sex trafficking. Director of Policy and Advocay, Ingrid Anderson, co-presented the NIAC session with NIWRC Policy Director, Kerri Colfer, summarizing the Commission's work and highlighting the Healing and Response Teams Special Initiative, which was created in response to the Commission's recommendations.
