Thank you so much to our volunteers and everyone who joined us for our National Coming Out Day Celebration and History Harvest! It was a great afternoon of conversation and community, alongside activities and refreshments. We also had a special opportunity to show an exhibit from MNHS about their Greater Minnesota Two-Spirit & LGBTQIA+ History Map, alongside new collection items from Red Wing! This exhibit will remain up for a few weeks, so be sure to check it out! It is important for museums like GCHS to review their collections for informational gaps and try to address them. This event was just our first step in preserving LGBTQIA+ history in Goodhue County! Couldn't make it to the event? That's okay! We will continually accept donations and are looking for those interested in sharing their stories through oral history interviews. We offer options such as taking digital donations, so you can keep the originals, and utilizing our Pride Line phone to document Coming Out stories privately.
