BEGINNING WHEEL THROWING – BOWLS $228 Oct 7th - 5 week program Description: This 5 week program is for students interested in creating clay forms on the potter’s wheel. Students who have never touched clay or need a refresher from being away for a while will benefit greatly. This class will dive into understanding the basics of throwing on a potter’s wheel concentrating on centering and making bowl forms. Instructor will lead with demonstrations then students will work hands-on on their projects. Students should expect to keep 2 of their pieces and glaze them during the class. There is a nominal cost for additional kiln firings beyond the 2 pieces. Open studio is available during WHAM business hours while enrolled in class. WHAM has some limited tools students can initially borrow but they will need to acquire their own. Recommended pottery tools: • wood rib, metal rib/scraper, wood knife, pin tool, sponge, and a towel. A beginner’s tool kit can be available for purchase at WHAM, at Marjon’s Ceramics, Blick, or Amazon. Students can bring an apron if wanted and a happy, smiling can-do attitude. Duration: 5 sessions (Tuesday evening classes) Please enter through courtyard gate. Date: Tuesday Nights – Oct 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th & Nov 4th Class Times: 6:00pm – 8:30pm.
