Agness Magwe was born and raised in Bukabwa. A proud Kabwan woman, she has seen the struggles and limitations her community has faced for generations—especially when it comes to education and opportunity. Though she doesn’t have a child currently studying at Oikos School, Agness is one of its strongest supporters. For her, what is happening in Bukabwa is nothing short of a miracle. “Growing up here, we never imagined something like this could happen in our village,” she says with deep emotion. “Bukabwa has always been left behind—no roads, no services, no schools that truly cared. We were not connected to the outside world.” But now, everything is beginning to change. When Agness walks past Oikos School and hears children reading Scripture and hears them doing their lessons in English, she smiles. “When I hear children in Bukabwa speaking English, I feel so much joy.
