For years, ConnCAT has proudly supported New Haven’s Freddy Fixer Parade. Now, that connection comes full circle as our own Director of Programs, Steve Driffin, has co-authored and directed a powerful new play about the man behind the movement—Dr. Fred F. Smith, also known as “Freddy Fixer.” Created in collaboration with Dr. Smith’s son, Fred Smith Jr. (pictured above with Driffin and others), Be Your Own Hero is a moving theatrical tribute to Dr. Smith’s life and legacy. The production runs this weekend at the Dixwell Q House, with performances on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are just $10 and available through the @dixwellqhouse website. (fb)
