Home - RSPCA Lincolnshire Mid & Lincoln Branch

We are the RSPCA Mid Lincs and Lincoln branch. We care for and rehome 500+ animals a year. We only exist because of our fantastic volunteers and public support. The charity is engaged in the promotion of kindness and prevention of cruelty to animals by actively seeking convictions against offenders committing cruelty to animals. In addition the charity seeks to re home as many homeless animals as possible within the Mid Lincolnshire area. The charity is also committed to a non destruct policy.

RSPCA Lincolnshire Mid, North East & Lincoln Branch

Overview

The RSPCA Lincolnshire Mid, North East & Lincoln Branch is a local charity branch of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), operating within the Lincolnshire area. It is registered as a separate charity with the number 224482. This branch focuses on promoting animal welfare, rehabilitating rescued animals, and rehoming those in need.

Activities

The branch is actively involved in several key activities:

  • Animal Rehabilitation and Rehoming: It cares for over 600 animals annually, brought in by RSPCA Inspectors from situations of cruelty and neglect. The goal is to rehabilitate these animals and find them suitable homes.
  • Welfare Promotion: The branch promotes responsible pet ownership by providing advice and assistance with neutering and microchipping. It also advocates for kindness and the prevention of cruelty to animals.
  • Legal Action: The charity seeks convictions against individuals committing animal cruelty.

Financial Operations

As a self-funding branch, it relies entirely on local donations and fundraising efforts. In the financial year ending December 2023, the branch recorded a total income of £380,061 and total expenditure of £264,128. The charity operates without any trading subsidiaries, and none of its trustees receive remuneration.

Governance and Volunteers

The branch is governed by a board of 12 trustees and is supported by a team of 43 volunteers. This volunteer base is crucial for the operation and success of the branch's activities.

Building and Operations

The branch operates from a historic building originally used as a Church Hall and Sunday School for St Mark's Church. The building was later gifted to the RSPCA and is now a prominent location for their activities. Over time, the branch has expanded its operations, including the opening of new charity shops.

Challenges and Achievements

Despite facing challenges such as financial reliance on local support and the need for continuous fundraising, the branch remains committed to its no-destruct policy for animals in its care. Its achievements are reflected in the successful rehabilitation and rehoming of numerous animals each year.
