Following last Friday's stunning symphonic concert, at which Sinfonia @ The Viaduct treated us to a exciting rendition of Beethoven's 5th Symphony, we were due to welcome Mine Dogantan Dack's Ensemble Vita Nova today for a performance of Brahms' 1st Piano Quartet. Unfortunately Mine has fallen ill and we will now need to reschedule this Brahms concert in the New Year. In place of the planned programme, we are pleased to have secured at very short notice the services of two young Hong Kong-born musicians, Cathy Tsang and Harris Leung, to give us a flute & piano recital. They have chosen to offer a beautiful Romantic programme of works by Debussy, Clara Schumann, Carl Frühling and Lili Boulanger. (fb)

Tomorrow lunchtime (Fri 27 Sept at 1.15 pm) we conclude our Gabriel Fauré centenary series with an all-Fauré song recital given by the tenor Tom Law, accompanied by Christopher Knox Oakey. Their programme will include Cinq Mélodies ‘de Venise’, Op. 58, and selected Chansons including Après un rêve, Clair de lune and Au bord de l’eau. Do join us at Holy Sepulchre Church for some scintillating French song to enliven your lunch hour! Light refreshments are available both before and after the performance, and following the concert, Music-at-Hill will be holding its 2024 AGM in the Henry Wood Room; all are welcome to attend this meeting.
