📢 UK Clinical Practice in Anticoagulation for Atrial High-Rate Episodes (AHRE) Survey Dr Mokhtar Ibrahim (Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist, Honorary Senior Lecturer – University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust) is conducting a survey: Recent trials, including ARTESIA and NOAH-AFNET 6, have evaluated anticoagulation in patients with device-detected atrial high-rate episodes (AHRE). ARTESIA showed modest stroke reduction with apixaban but increased bleeding. NOAH-AFNET 6 found no net clinical benefit with edoxaban. As the ESC guidelines remain non-committal, the optimal management of AHRE is still uncertain.
