On 12th May, at 8pm, Anne Ramon will talk to Oxfordshire FHS over Zoom on 'The Prize Papers project at The National Archives, Kew'. ‘Prizes’ are ships captured in wartime, where papers removed by the captors were used to prove enemy or neutral status. The project is a cataloguing, research and digitisation project, running from 2018 to 2037, with a present focus on the American War of Independence period. Anne is helping the project as a volunteer and she will explain the types of documents she encounters in the files and the information of interest to genealogists.
