Do you enjoy singing? Are you a tenor or bass? If you enjoy singing, why not join Fakenham Choral Society. The Society is looking to recruit more tenors and basses for the coming season. We are one of the county’s most highly regarded choirs and we aim to bring the pleasure of live, large-scale choral music-making to a wide public. The Choir performs a minimum of three concerts a year and our repertoire has featured a broad range of both sacred and secular music performed with a succession of distinguished soloists and orchestras. A big thank you to Fakenham Choral Society’s Patron, Sarah Countess of Leicester, for hosting a garden party for members at her lovely home in Holkham this week. During the evening choir chair Rosemary Dear thanked the choir, our musical director Mark Jones and in particular our new accompanist Matthew Preston, who was certainly thrown in at the deep end this term! The evening rounded up another successful year for FCS, with three concerts, including Saturday’s performance of ‘Mass in Blue’ and European sacred songs, our ‘Christmas Knights’ concerts performing pieces by Sir John Rutter and Sir Karl Jenkins, and our Spring performance of Edward Elgar’s ‘The Music Makers’, as well as a capacity ‘Come and Sing’ day singing choruses from Verdi’s Requiem.
