We provide vital ‘Homes from Home’ where families with a sick child in hospital can stay, free of charge, just minutes from their child’s bedside. At an overwhelming and difficult time, we offer families the support they need to face the day ahead. Families can have a hot shower and a comfortable bed to rest, and our caring staff are there to listen and comfort them when they need it. We were delighted to welcome volunteers from Mace Group to Stevenson House, where they spent the day cooking delicious meals for our families. After long, emotional days on the wards at The Royal London Hospital, parents were able to return to comforting, home-cooked food — a gesture that meant so much. Thuni Choudhury said: "It was a lovely experience volunteering at the Stevenson House, it was good for team building whilst also doing good for the community. We loved visiting and seeing everything the house does for it’s residents. It was not only a fun and rewarding experience, but also eye opening to the work that the sick children’s trust do."
