As a Council and one of the leading employers in the borough, we continue to support the Armed Forces community, including reservists, veterans, service leavers, and military families. It is why we are proud recipients of the Armed Forces Covenant Silver Award. On Wednesday, alongside other employers, we were invited to a Breakfast Business Meeting at the 6 Regiment Army Air Corps, Middle Wallop Flying Station, Hampshire. A great occasion to meet members of the Armed Forces community and hear first-hand some of the challenges servicemen and women experience when switching to civilian life. Events like these strengthen the link between the Ministry of Defence and local employers, helping us to uphold our responsibilities as per the Armed Forces Covenant. Veterans possess a number of transferable skills, including leadership, teamwork, problem-solving and resilience. They make brilliant employees, are loyal, and committed. Their world-class training in the forces can directly enhance their performance at work.
