Mr Mills’ Musings • You have to be quick on your feet at lunchtime with our Pre-Prep pupils. Questions come at you fast—often out of nowhere, and always delightfully unfiltered. This week, five-year-old Lily didn’t mince her words: “Why do you waste time, Mr Mills, saying hello to everyone at the school gate? Why don’t you get someone else to do that?” A bold—and rather brilliant—question. I explained that greeting families each morning is one of my favourite parts of the day. It’s a moment of connection, never a waste of time. But Lily had already moved on and was eyeing my bowl. “And why have you got such a big pudding?” Little voices, big questions. Meet the Staff 👋 We are proud to be shining the spotlight on our amazing Mandarin teacher and all-round legend, Shu-Zhen, who has supported Chinese pupils at Port Regis for a mightily impressive 25 years! Not only does Shu-Zhen offer 1:1 tuition as an ‘extra opportunity’ to all Port Regis pupils from Reception to A Form (Year 8)but she is famed for treating staff to dumplings and pancakes and bringing pupils home-cooked noodles on their birthday!
