Over the past two days, our whole Lower Sixth visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, an annual visit for our school. A profoundly moving experience, and during this week especially, it is vital to consider and learn from the history and horrors of the former concentration camp. This visit is the central part of helping our pupils understand what racism, hatred, contempt, cruelty and cynicism can lead to. (fb)
