We were both surprised and delighted to learn that the Royal Navy Officers' Charity (RNOC) has been chosen as one of the charities to benefit from a donation made in the name of George Wheatley. Last year, George’s life was changed dramatically following a serious accident. Since then, he and his family have spoken of the remarkable support they have received from medical teams, rehabilitation specialists, and the RNOC. In recognition of that support, his friends and family set up a JustGiving campaign to raise funds, taking part in a series of challenges. That George and his family have thought of us at such a challenging time is something we are truly grateful for. Their generosity reminds us how strongly the values of service, resilience, and mutual support run through the wider Royal Navy community.
