🌟 Throwback Thursday week 71 🌟 As we are preparing for a contest in November and I’m doing going through memorabilia while putting together scrapbooks I have come across a Souvenir programme for the Nation-Wide Open Spring Brass Band Festival which took place at Belle vue Manchester in May 1955. According to our history archive this is the first national contest the band took part in. I’ll add photos to the comments of the other sections and try and tag bands that we are aware of that are still going but please feel free to tag away. I have also scanned as a PDF so if anyone wants a copy please pm us. We didn’t come anywhere in the running in 1955 but apparently in 1956 the band were placed 5th out of 25 and were very pleased with their progress. (fb)
