Lutyens Memorial refurbishment update We are pleased to share the latest progress in the ongoing refurbishment of the Lutyens Grade 1 Memorial at Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens, following work getting back underway last month. Our Assets team is making significant headway with our Heritage Contractors, Skillington’s, and critical work has now begun on the memorial's roof, with tiles being removed for essential repairs. We're particularly pleased that a number of original tiles can be reused, maintaining the memorial's authentic character. The process of stripping the render has also commenced; while this phase is proving more extensive than initially projected, it's a vital step in restoring the monument's exterior. We've also successfully completed the memorial's wreath assessment. The specialist assessment with the Ed Morton Partnership is now underway, alongside the crucial DOFF cleaning of the stonework, which will gently restore its intricate details. We really appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we undertake the essential restoration of this important landmark.
