South Wales Record Society Welcome. We were established as a charitable organisation in 1982 and our purpose is to publish a regular series of books on the history of South Wales in general and the historic counties of Glamorgan and Monmouthshire in particular. From medieval church records to industrial letterbooks and from manorial court books to the two World Wars these publications give access to a variety of original sources that might otherwise be hidden away in archives and libraries. Each one comes with a scholarly introduction notes bibliography and appendices which help the reader to interpret it and understand it in its historical context.
