This week I found a piece of research by EVAW, Ending Violence Against Women. You can see the full report here by following this link - https://www.endviolenceagainstwomen.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Snapshot-report-2025-web.pdf Just to provide you with a quick guide to what needs to be done - - Protecting the human rights framework to protect women and girls - Hold the government accountable as the new law suggests - Make prevention a key part of the work - Holding long term campaigns - Work in schools with young people (watch out for our new Glow Up service) - Address the online abuse - Give everyone equal access to justice and support services - Have a whole society approach with health, housing, law etc. - Have sustainable funding for specialist services - Review work with rape so making the court processes quicker That's quite a list and when you look at it, it all seems like common sense, so why is it so difficult to make it happen? What do you think will make the difference? Is it one of these or something different? Halving domestic abuse in 10 years seems like a huge task but it would be amazing if it happened.
