🌊 Today, WI members and the WI Loch Mess monster joined our campaign rally in Monmouth, on the river Wye, to stand up for our rivers, our soil, and our communities. Chair of NFWI-Wales, Jill Rundle, addressed the meeting and called for immediate testing and regulation of microplastics in sewage, as well as a coherent plan for upstream solutions - such as microplastic filters in washing machines and better product design. We were joined by the Mayor of Monmouth, Jackie Atkin @monmouth_towncouncil and local MP, @catherine.fookes Our research show that the UK public overwhelmingly supports stronger regulation and testing of microplastics in sewage and want the government to act.
