Marlow Rotary Club hosts the charity concert given by the Chiltern Music Academy in All Saints Church, Marlow, on the 8 March. For over 30 years the Rotary Club of Marlow has been supporting a concert in Marlow which gives an opportunity for us to enjoy music from some amazing young people. We have worked with the Chiltern Music Academy since its formation 11 years ago and with its predecessor before that. At this year’s concert we will have contributions from the String Orchestra, the Brass Ensemble, the Choir, and the Symphony Orchestra will be playing the whole of Dvorak Symphony No. 8 in G Major. Marlow Rotary Club plants crocuses in the grounds of Sir Aubrey Ward House. On Wednesday 23 October, five intrepid Rotarians met up at Sir Aubrey Ward House, a care home in Marlow. Their task was daunting - to plant 4,000 crocuses in the lawn. The aim was to provide a splash of colour for the residents each spring and also to raise awareness for Rotary’s campaign to rid the world of Polio. The Rotary Club of Marlow has been planting crocuses around Marlow for over 5 years, but this year it was going to be different. Instead of planting them randomly, this time they would all be planted pointed side up! We await the outcome next year with eager anticipation… Many thanks to Annie and the staff at Sir Aubrey Ward for helping to arrange our visit and for keeping us going with tea and delicious sandwiches.
