Last month, our Anna, Jo and Humphrey once again pitched our marquee at the annual Tatton Park VW Show. Special shout outs to organiser Julieanne at the Cheshire VAG Society and Tony Price and the Beach Buggy crew for all their support on the day. Sam Price has been raising money for our children's cancer and oncology ward through the sale of his book "Small Boat in a Big Ocean", based on his three-year journal detailing his granddaughter Sorelle's cancer journey. Sorelle was treated for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia by Professor Rob Wynn and underwent chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant in our care. 90% of the book royalties are donated back to the ward with the remaining 10% saved for Sorrelle. Recently, Sam attended the hospital to celebrate the first royalty payment of an incredible £1005.29 from the book! Celebrating this achievement alongside him was Carmine and Elaine Grimshaw, the new Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Manchester. Also in attendence was our Trust Chair Kathy Cowell, Professor Rob Wynn and of course, Sorelle herself. Thank you Sam! (fb)
