Eight-year-old Evalyn Palmer from Wainfleet, Lincolnshire, received a bravery award from EMAS earlier this week after calling 999 when her mum suffered a seizure at home. With her baby sister beside her, Evalyn stayed calm, gave clear information to our Emergency Medical Advisor, and even helped paramedics by gathering her mum’s medication. Her quick thinking meant her mum, Lynette, got the care she needed – and on Tuesday 16 September, we were proud to present Evalyn with her award 💚🚑 (fb)

We attended the National Ambulance Memorial Service yesterday, in the beautiful grounds of the National Memorial Arboretum. It was an opportunity for us to honour the memory of colleagues and volunteers, and to give thanks for their service. We laid a wreath at the Ambulance Memorial Garden, alongside tributes from other ambulance services. EMAS was represented in the procession by standard-bearer Keith Sharpe. A poem by Laura Gorman, Northamptonshire Technician, was read as part of the service. We will remember them 💚 (fb)
