🏡 #RuralHousingWeek Spotlight: Supporting Berkshire’s Rural Communities Meet Maria Kelly, our Rural Housing Enabler, working with parishes across Berkshire to tackle the rural affordable housing crisis. ✅ Since April 2024, we’ve partnered with: 📍 Beech Hill 📍 Beenham 📍 Compton 📍 Waltham St Lawrence 📍 Horton Together, we’re identifying local housing needs and exploring new affordable homes for local people. 💬 Maria says: "Conversations with residents and parish councils have shown just how deeply the national housing crisis is being felt in rural areas. Too often, the few affordable homes that do exist are allocated without a local connection—leaving communities feeling overlooked and disconnected. We’re working to change that." 🔍 What’s next? More Housing Needs Surveys Mapping need using census data Championing local connection policies Listening to tenants to shape future plans Want to know more?
