A look back along memory lane; Here are 17 photographs, by an unknown photographer, showing a footplate trip along the NNR in the mid 1990's from the footplate of No. 2107 (100) Harlaxton. The locomotive was painted in a recreation of M&GN Golden Ochre for celebrations to commemorate the centenary of the railway in 1893. It now lives as a Thomas replica in Scotland. Photographs copyright to the Society. It is fascinating to see how the railway has grown and developed since this time. (fb)

The M and GN Society is the supporting charity of and major shareholder in the North Norfolk Railway which operates a 5 mile heritage railway from Sheringham to Holt. Founded in October 1959 after the extensive closure of the MGN system the Society works to preserve display and operate a wide range of historical artefacts which include four steam locomotives and many unique carriages and wagons.
