The charity was formed with the purpose of exploring topics and techniques in search management. Founders Dave Perkins and Pete Roberts have extensive experience in Search and Rescue (SAR), having served as team leaders in the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team. Carl Hamilton, another experienced member of the NNPMRT, joined the Centre in 2012[3][4].
Activities
The Centre for Search Research offers training courses in incident management, search management, and search skills. These courses cater to both statutory and civilian organizations, applicable in various terrains from urban to wilderness environments. The charity also engages in publishing research on a range of SAR-related topics[1][3].

A great end to a busy week. Following the release of our updated Misper-UK app on Tuesday, Pete and Carl travelled to Dublin on Friday to deliver our Initial Response Search Management course to the Irish Coast Guard on Saturday. As ever, a great bunch of dedicated and committed folk and a pleasure to work with. We thank them all for their interest and for travelling from all over Ireland to attend. (fb)
