Home Welcome to the Northumberland Orchestra The Northumberland Orchestra also known as the Northumberland Orchestral Society NOS is based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Founded in 1877 it is one of the oldest amateur orchestras in England. We are a lively society of musicians from all backgrounds and walks of life with one thing in common we love to rehearse and perform a wide variety of orchestral music. We rehearse weekly during term time at Jesmond United Reformed Church in Newcastle and usually give three concerts a year.
