We were thrilled to see this gem from our collection featured in The Times's article 'The paintings (and one sculpture) that make us feel good' this week 📰 William Hogarth's 'March of the Guards to Finchley' shows the King's Guardsmen gathering in preparation for their march to camp on Finchley Common during the 1745 Jacobite rebellion. The piece is brought to life by a lively cast of characters, including macho boxers, brawling soldiers, eager (possible) ex-girlfriends and gin-loving babies. As Richard Morrison puts it, 'Beauty doesn’t have to be serene. A magnificent artwork depicting turbulence can also trigger what those Cambridge academics call “big picture thinking”.' ❓️Do you have a work of art from our collection that you especially love?
