-
Community Strengthening: By empowering local communities and organizations, RedR UK helps build resilience against natural and man-made disasters.
-
Humanitarian Professionals Deployment: The organization maintains a pool of trained and experienced aid workers who can be deployed to support emergency responses and longer-term humanitarian programs worldwide.
Impact and Partnerships
RedR UK works impartially with various organizations, communities, and governments to deliver humanitarian assistance. It also fosters partnerships to promote inclusive and sustainable disaster response solutions.

🌟 Expanding Our Climate Resilience Impact: RedR & Howden Foundation Partnership 🌟 The Howden Foundation has committed to a 2-year extension of RedR's climate resilience work in Afghanistan and Somalia, following a successful pilot programme. Why this matters: Somalia experienced its worst drought in 40 years in 2024, which was followed by devastating floods. Afghanistan is currently experiencing severe drought, with a 40% drop in rainfall resulting in 11.6 million people facing acute food insecurity, and 21 million people in need of access to clean water. In response, RedR will build upon its pilot programme to support and upskill humanitarian workers to account for the impacts of climate change and integrate these considerations into their work. RedR will deliver online training to humanitarian workers in both regions, including: ⚡280 new climate leaders trained across 8 intensive cohorts ⚡Microgrants directly into community hands ⚡Personalised coaching for emerging climate champions ⚡ New modules on climate finance and proposal writing ⚡ A growing alumni network of drought resilience experts to build long-term learning and collaboration Our pilot participants aren't just applying their learning as part of their humanitarian work - they're teaching others. During the pilot, Ahmad and several other participants designed their own follow-up programme reaching and training additional humanitarian workers in climate resilience. Abdulhadi installed early warning systems in rural schools and mosques, then represented Afghanistan at COP29. Grace is now facilitating global humanitarian discussions. This is exactly what RedR's strategy demands: locally-led, practical capacity building that creates lasting change, ensuring that those most at risk are equipped with the tools and knowledge to prepare, adapt and recover. 🛠️ We’re proud to work alongside a foundation that stems from the insurance sector, whose insight and commitment to risk mitigation, preparedness, and resilience is vital in facing climate volatility. This partnership exemplifies how corporate leaders can engage meaningfully with NGOs to build the human infrastructure to deliver climate solutions at scale and with impact. Our thanks to the Howden Foundation for their ongoing commitment to communities on the frontlines of climate change. hashtag#ClimateResilience hashtag#HowdenFoundation hashtag#RedRUK hashtag#ClimateAction hashtag#Afghanistan hashtag#Somalia hashtag#LocallyLed hashtag#HumanitarianInnovation hashtag#DroughtResilience hashtag#Philanthropy hashtag#CorporateFoundation hashtag#ClimateRisk hashtag#DisasterPrevention (fb)
