Chain of Hope’s catheterisation mission to Ethiopia has come to an end. This week 16 children have had life-saving procedures conducted by our incredible team of Medical Volunteers led by Chain of Hope’s Medical Board Chair, Professor Sir Shakeel Qureshi at the Cardiac Centre, Ethiopia. We must also thank the rest of our Medical Volunteers; without them we wouldn’t be able to #MendLittleHearts. Meet Abdulrahman from Somalia! ♥️ Abdulrahman was diagnosed with PS (Severe Valvular Pulmonary Stenosis). He underwent a BPV procedure (Balloon Pulmonary Valvotomy) during our current medical mission to Ethiopia this week to help control blood flow from the heart to the lungs when it becomes too narrow. Thanks to Chain of Hope’s Chair Medical Board Chair, Professor Shakeel Qureshi, and Medical Volunteer Dr Twalib Aliku, Abdulrahman underwent a successful procedure and is now recovering well. Abdulraham loves playing football but would get tired which led to concerns from his parents. He is now on the road to recovery and is looking forward to getting back onto the football pitch.
