Fundraising Thank You The Team at CVSRT would like to say a massive thank you to all our fundraisers and supporters, from those who put their loose change in our collection boxes, to events that choose our team as a recipient of profits raised. Every single penny counts. It costs over £50,000 a year to keep CVSRT operational. All of our members are volunteers, giving their time freely to provide an emergency service to the Calder Valley and beyond. We are amazed by the generosity shown by our community. A huge thank you to all of you. * Collection boxes at Hargreaves Shoe Shop in Keighley and the Riggs Shop and Cafe raised £66.87 and £75.84 respectively. * The Dusty Miller public house in Mytholmroyd raised £130 with a raffle. * Heptonstall Pace Egg Players performed four performances of their famous play, and a bucket collection raised £937. This was divided between CVSRT and The Red Cross International. * A talk to a group at Shibden raised £216. * The legendary Beeston Hall Barn Dance raised £6,000. Team members look forward to this event and get fully involved, pulling pints and serving food. * Ripponden, Barkisland and Rishworth Community donated £1,000. This was from the remaining Community Funds raised to support local businesses after a spate of break-ins. * The Beauty and the Beast after-show collection at Smajic (St Michael's Amateurs Juniors in Concert, Mytholmroyd) raised £459.80. Callout 09.08.2025 11:38 - 14:35 Gorple Cottages Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team received a request for assistance from West Yorkshire Police to attend to a mountain biker, who had fallen and sustained injuries, near Gorple Cottages. On arrival at the scene, Helimed 98 was already on the ground and providing medical care to the biker. The biker was then transported by CVSRT along the Pennine Bridleway to Gorple Cottages, to a waiting ambulance for onward travel to hospital. Once in the ambulance, the casualty's condition deteriorated, and the call was made to re-position Helimed to airlift the casualty to hospital. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
