What can we do? In light of the ongoing tribulations in Gaza and the wider region of Bilād al-Shām, we must pause and ask ourselves: what is Allah calling us to do in these times of trial? These lands—Palestine, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon—are deeply rooted in our Islamic heritage. They have always been places of sacrifice, spiritual depth, and divine significance. Gaza, the resting place of Hāshim, the great-grandfather of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), was liberated by Sayyidunā ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb more than 1,300 years ago. That legacy is not merely history—it is a trust passed down through the generations. If we allow these sacred lands to remain under oppression without acting, we risk being held accountable just as past generations were. So let each of us ask: what can I present before Allah on the Day of Judgment?
