According to the County Councils Network, one fifth of ‘lifeline’ bus routes serving residents in county and rural areas have disappeared over the last five years despite pledges of a bus revolution. CPRE are calling on the Government to support rural bus services with a guaranteed service level and a rural weighting in its revised Bus Service Improvement Plan funding formula. (fb)
