We were honoured to welcome the UK Ambassador to Cambodia, Dominic Williams, to our office in Stung Treng recently.🤝 Cambodia is well on its way to malaria elimination but cases can still be found in migrant populations living in remote forested regions near the country’s northern border. Our Cross-border (RAI4E) project is providing training to locals in the affected provinces to deliver vital malaria services. During his visit, the ambassador — along with representatives from National Centre for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control (CNM), Catholic Relief Services and the Provincial District Governor's office — observed project activities. The 8th annual Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) Alliance meeting — held in Lomé, Togo in February — brought together over 100 representatives from 22 countries, from the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Malaria Programme, ministries of health, national malaria programmes, researchers, implementing partners and academic institutions. The event provided a critical platform for assessing progress, addressing emerging challenges and defining a new strategic direction for SMC and broader malaria chemoprevention efforts that protect millions of children from malaria in Africa.
