We are deeply saddened by the passing of Holocaust survivor Eve Kugler. Eve endured unimaginable horrors as a child, surviving the Holocaust by fleeing Nazi persecution in France and eventually finding refuge in America. Despite the trauma she experienced, she devoted her life to sharing her experiences, ensuring that the memory of the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust remained vivid and meaningful for future generations. A beloved and powerful presence at Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) commemorations over the years, Eve captivated audiences with her warmth, grace, and unwavering commitment to truth and remembrance. In 2015, she took part in our Memory Makers project, where Holocaust and genocide survivors were paired with British artists who created works of art inspired by their lives. Her contribution left a lasting impression on all who were part of the project. Eve was more than a witness to history - she was a beacon of compassion. Her determination to educate, her kindness, and radiant spirit touched countless lives. We mourn her loss deeply and feel privileged to have known her.
