In March we had our monthly formal meeting and had a talk on exoplanets by Dr James Lees from the university of York. He explored the limits of what planets can be and what criteria there is to successfully have an exoplanet. From tatooine to super earth's James explored it all from science fiction to science fact. In a packed hall an exciting evening discussing the limits of exoplanets was enjoyed by all! Back in February we had another big turnout at our first informal of the year! The topic was all things geology where we heard @beccaflynn1298 talk to us about her travels in Costa Rica and the makeup of the rocks, landmass and weather in the country. We also heard about Tony's trip to Germany where the town he visited is in a meteor creator. Then members looked at the drawings that Andy had created and different rocks and meteors brought in and finally we viewed Jupiter through a #skywatcher #telescope in the car park. 😄 At the next informal the topic will be confirmed but @beccaflynn1298 will be trying to present the videos from Costa Rica of the thunderstorms whilst there as there was some issues with the tech.
