Women of the Climate Parliament: Hon. Amira Saber Hon. Amira Saber has been a member of the Egyptian Parliament since 2019. She is a member of the coordination committee for youth leaders in Cairo and the Secretary General of the Foreign Relations Committee. She introduced the first ever legislation to combat food waste in Egypt and spearheaded a draft bill for climate change. Hon. Amira advocates for collective involvement of female members of parliament around the world to actively draft solutions and spark discussion.   An instrumental member of the Climate Parliament network and passionate speaker, Hon. Amira has consistently demonstrated her commitment to climate change issues. She has attended numerous Climate Parliament meetings, participating in knowledge exchange with fellow Members of Parliament, including in Luxor, Egypt, during COP27 and Dubai, UAE, during COP28. In Luxor, more than 100 MPs from across Africa and South Asia, 47% of whom were women, as well as CEOs, investors and climate and energy experts gathered to discuss and debate climate finance for green grid interconnections ahead of the Egypt COP. Hon. Amira ensured that a substantial delegation of parliamentarians from Egypt attended the event, demonstrating her leadership and essential convening power to ensure these issues are forefront and addressed at the highest level. Hon. Amira was also part of a delegation of African MPs from our network who travelled to Brussels and The Hague to hold high-level meetings with EU organisations to discuss funding for projects in their countries.
