The Ben Parker Trust Fund
Overview The Ben Parker Trust Fund, commonly referred to as Ben's Den, is a UK charity dedicated to supporting the families of children battling leukaemia or cancer. Founded in March 2004, it was established in memory of Ben Parker, who lost his life to leukaemia in 2003 at the age of 10.
Purpose and Activities The primary aim of the charity is to provide a respite for these families by gifting them free holidays. This allows them to spend quality family time together away from the stress of hospital environments. To achieve this, Ben's Den offers specially designed holiday caravans.
Operations As of November 2023, the charity operates a total of seven caravans. Six are located at Mablethorpe's Golden Sands, and the seventh is at Tattershall Lakes in Sleaford. This setup enables families to enjoy short breaks throughout the year. The charity works closely with organizations like CLIC Sargent to identify and support families in need.
Achievements and Funding By the time of the opening of the vans at Mablethorpe in 2024, over 1,500 families had benefited from the charity's services. This is a significant milestone for Ben's Den. Financially, in the year ending April 2023, the charity reported a total income of £128,582 and total expenditure of £79,040.
Awards and Recognition In 2025, The Ben Parker Trust Fund won the prestigious Park Christmas Savings National Community Award. This recognition provided the charity with prize money that will be used to acquire an eighth holiday caravan. This award highlights the charity's importance within the community and acknowledges its efforts to provide supportive services.
Governance The charity is governed by seven trustees. None of the trustees receive remuneration or benefits from the charity.

Welcome to the Ben Parker Trust Fund Bens Den is a dedicated childrens charity based in Ilkeston Derbyshire and set up in memory of Ben Parker who sadly passed away in 2003 following a battle with leukaemia. The aim of the charity is to support the families of children fighting leukaemia or cancer by gifting them a free holiday and allowing them to spend much needed quality family time together away from the overwhelming hospital environment. The charity was set up by Bens parents in March 2004. Since then they have held many fundraising events and now have 7 caravans in total one of which is a fully adapted caravan which will mean inclusive access for wheelchairs.
