“Women experiencing homelessness are often hidden.” That’s why we’re helping run the North East’s very first Women’s Homelessness Census. Traditional street counts often miss women. Many spend nights on buses, in shopping centres or sofa surfing to stay safe. But targeted approaches, like this census, can reveal four times as many women in need. This week, we’ll be out across Gateshead and South Tyneside working with partners, making sure women aren’t missed and get linked into the right support.
