Last weekend visitors to Lydiard Park enjoyed a demonstration of dances from the Regency period. Performed by the Georgettes of Oxford, this event was part of the Jane Austen 250th birthday celebrations. On our trip down memory lane this week we revisit August 1997 when visitors were treated to a lesson in a slightly more flamboyant mode of dance, baroque, popular during the 17th and early 18th century.
