As temperatures drop, you may be using a fire or wood burner. But not all wood is safe to burn. Using treated, painted, or damp wood in your log burner releases toxic fumes that can harm your lungs and pollute your home. Stick to certified “Ready to Burn” wood with less than 20% moisture. Burning the wrong materials can cause serious health problems, such as asthma and heart disease, as fine particles from smoke linger in the air and enter your lungs. Think before you throw it on the fire. Protect your family by burning clean. #health #airquality (fb)
We are delighted that our Lancaster City Museums has received £40,500 major funding - another step in helping us to not only safeguard our local heritage but also create exciting new opportunities for residents and visitors to engage with our city’s incredible history. The cash injection from the Museums Renewal Fund will enable immersive experiences at the Cottage Museum to vibrant events at the City and Maritime Museums and ensures our museums remain accessible for local people to connect with their shared heritage. Our museums are home to rare local artefacts dating back as far back at the Stone Age, as well as the local regiment’s history dating back to 1680 and you can read more about how this funding will be a major boost to the museums here https://loom.ly/Ms8WdPI Department for Culture, Media and Sport Arts Council England (fb)
