Contest Promotional Video Logo Poster Design Gingerbread Nontraditional Gingerbread Traditional Needlework Middle and high school students grades 8th12th grade who have qualified at one of three regional contests are invited to compete and show off their German language skills and cultural understanding at the annual Texas State German Contest. Read More The Winterfest began sometime in the late 1960s followed by Sprachfest in 1976 and Houstonfest in 1980. As a culmination of the organization of area or regional contests the Texas State German Contest was first held in the Spring of 1982 at Crockett High School in Austin.
